Abstract

The research was carried out in the houses of protected crops belonging to the Municipal Agroindustrial Company Paquito Rosales Benítez of Yara municipality, Granma province. The objective was to determine the energetic cost of three horticultural crops: tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum M.), bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) and cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), under protected conditions. For this purpose, a study of the energetic cost and economic income of production was carried out using a randomized block experimental design with two replications and three crops as treatments. The data obtained were compared by means of an analysis of variance with the STATISTICA statistical package. As a result, the bell pepper crop showed an energy cost of 24,80 GJ·ha-1, directly proportional to the input energy of 25,24 GJ·ha-1. The agricultural yield for the tomato crop was 87,03 t·ha-1, with input of 23 500,00 CUP·ha-1 in relation to bell pepper and cucumber respectively.
