As leading centers of Higher Education, universities have the social mission of ensuring the adequate preparation and qualification that professionals need to face the challenges imposed by the scientific-technical development in the world, thus responding to the multiple demands of production and services. A subject intended to face this great challenge is Research Methodology and, within it as a fundamental aspect, qualitative research tools (group approach). In this sense, the objective of this research is to explain the group approach as a qualitative research tool for training and implementation in universities. Methods such as analysis-synthesis, inductive-deductive and observation were used for its development. The importance of the study lies in offering tools to students to develop their scientific-research activities, integrating knowledge from the disciplines and preparing them for the achievement of professional skills.
