The pedagogic mediation of the Information and Communication Technologies: a way for the cultural development of the rural pupil. (Review)

Abstract

This article is based on the importance and role played by the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), as pedagogical mediation in the process of cultural training that takes place in the primary schools in the rural sector. The theory of the cultural historical approach of Vygotsky, the concepts of ICT, pedagogical mediation, computer formation and cultural formation are used as essential foundations to refer to the role of the teacher, the pupils, the families and the community in the cultural formation mediated by the technologies, as well as  the most important actions and activities that can be developed, both from the curricular level, in the prioritized subjects such as Mathematics, Spanish Language and History, as well as the extracurricular activities that are developed in the rural community and that contribute to the cultural formation of its citizens. Alternatives are offered to use the available equipment and technologies such as solar panels, computers, tablets, mobile phones, televisions, videos and in function of the learning and formation of the integral general culture of the pupils of the rural sector and their families.
