Abstract

The investigation was developed in the Unit of Base “Protected Cultivations and protected” Semi belonging to the Agricultural Company “Paquito Rosales Benítez" of Veguita, municipality Yara, county Granma. The objective of the work was to evaluate through the methodology proposed by Bowers (1992) the energy balance of the pepper cultivation (Capsicum annuum L.) in Fluvisol, in the understood period of november 2017 to march 2018. The energy of direct use in T2 superior behaved in 5,9 GJ ha-1 to T1; the highest consumptions were associated to the human force related with the activities of cultural attentions representing respectively for T2 and T1 the 75,1 and 59,6 % of the total. The energy of indirect use corresponded T1 superior in 1,2 GJ ha-1 to T2, highlighting that for both treatments the biggest quantity was associated the use of fertilizers with value of 7,6 GJ ha-1. The energy relationship (ratio) and the coefficient of energy efficiency (NER) in T2 with values of 2,3 and 1,3 respectively, they were superior in 1,9 and 1,2 to those obtained by T1. The emissions of CO2 to the atmosphere in the treatments T1 and T2 were of 0,1 and 1,3 kg and the coefficient of efficiency of reduction of the emissions of dioxide of carbon they indicated values of 1,3 and 2,3 respectively. The relationship expense-revenues of the production of the pepper cultivation favored T2, contributing a gain of 6 733,8 CUP, superior in 6 062,7 CUP with relationship to T1.
