The integration of university and general education in the training of the Bachelor of Primary Education

Abstract

The article addresses a topic that corresponds with the demands required for the development of current Cuban society and, consequently, within the Cuban university. Hence, the need to train a competent professional committed to the Cuban socialist project. In this sense, a pedagogical strategy is proposed for the training of the Bachelor of Primary Education based on the integration of the university and general education. The research was conducted in the Yara municipality, Granma province, Cuba. Different research methods were used, with the materialist dialectic as the guiding method; theoretical, empirical, and statistical methods served to ensure a broad command of the research object, as well as to contribute to the interpretation of the information and the assessment of the results. The implementation of the aforementioned strategy strengthened the relationships between the university and general education in a complementary process during initial training. All of this was carried out considering the characteristics of each educational context and the demands of the current training model.
