Effective confronting the criminality of adolescent offenders in Ecuador (Review)

Abstract

The present investigation collects relevant information regarding the increase in the participation of adolescents in different criminal acts, keeping citizens at risk. These minors being moldable to the interests of increasingly violent criminal groups. Massive recruitment leaves society with a question about the criminal liability of adolescent offenders, the severity in the execution of sentences and whether there is true rehabilitation. For the purposes of this study, the general objective is defined as analyzing the effectiveness of the socio-educational measures applied to adolescent offenders in the city of Guayaquil in the year 2023. To do this, it is necessary to identify the behavior of the crime rates of adolescent offenders. within the year 2023 in the city of Guayaquil. This article is worked with a qualitative-quantitative or mixed research approach, which applies scientific methods such as inductive-deductive, analytical-synthetic, as it is a legal article, the exegetical method is used. The mixed approach is applied, which complements the analysis of the surveys carried out on different legal professionals in free practice, as well as active judicial officials.
