Information systems and their contribution to the operational efficiency of companies (Original)

This research highlights that the effective implementation of information systems improves operational efficiency, it also transforms the organizational culture of companies, focusing on the use of accurate data to be more competitive. Currently, companies integrate these systems as they are evolving rapidly due to digital transformation and the integration of advanced technologies. The general objective of this study is to determine how information systems contribute to the operational efficiency of companies. For its development, the bibliographic and analytical method was used for the compilation and analysis of reports; relevant articles and documents were reviewed. The results reveal that information systems are fundamental for organizational development, especially in financial areas, since they facilitate forecasts that are crucial for effective decision making. Companies that invest in information technologies obtain significant advantages by adapting quickly to market changes and responding quickly to customer needs. These systems optimize time, resources and costs in daily operations, minimizing errors. In addition, it is observed that they improve collaboration between departments and with clients and suppliers, allowing effective comparisons between companies that use and do not use information systems.
