This research aimed to assess the motor components for postural control and sarcopenia levels in athletes of the men's basketball team of the Atlantic University, period 2018 II. This arose from the need to provide a tool to assess the performance and prescription of training in university sports. Determining variables using numerical expressions, describing properties of the population subject to study and relationships between variables, evaluating body composition, sarcopenia levels, motor components, and alterations present in athletes. The podometry titration showed respect to the proportionality of the foot, an average of 0.3147 for the right foot, and 0.2837 for the left foot, indicating a type of foot with a tendency to cave, causing changes in the gait during sports performance. the functional valuation that determines the measurable and observable performance of basic movements, yielded from the range 2.00, being the highest incidence, an average of 4.15, determining that the athlete can complete the movement, but must somehow compensate for the position. Finally, the levels of sarcopenia, being decisive the skeletal muscle mass index, presented an average of 5.72 kg/m2, being below the cut-off points presented in research carried out, which is 7.25 kg/m2 for males. Due to this assessment, it is proposed to develop a methodological program, where anthropometric, motor and functional characteristics are evident, to create filters and channels for the selection of personnel representing the university.
