The article presents a historical study of the process of methodological work and the management of the methodological preparation of the preschool instructor. The problem is addressed from the determination of historical trends and constitutes one of the scientific results of a doctoral thesis. The objective is to evaluate the historical behavior of the process through the determination of characteristics and tendencies. The basic assumptions of the methodological work and the methodological preparation that serve as references for the study in correspondence with the established indicators are tackled. The study is developed in the 1959-2018 period, and is based on 1959 as an important milestone in the preparation of the educators in Cuba.
