Abstract

The integration of digital technologies in teacher training is essential to foster autonomous and up-to-date learning in the information age. The article aimed to analyze the use of digital platforms such as WordPress and the Divi 4.6.6 builder in the self-preparation process of future teachers at the University of Granma. The population consisted of 82 students and 23 teachers from the Bachelor's program in Education, Computer Science, and the sample included 27 students and 12 teachers, selected randomly. The analyzed variables included the level of use of these tools, the perception of competence in self-preparation, and the motivation to innovate in their teaching practice. The results showed that not all students used these technological resources to design educational blogs, which negatively impacted the development of their digital and pedagogical skills. Additionally, a negative relationship was found between the use of these platforms and the perception of greater autonomy in their preparation, along with variable motivation to experiment with new methodologies. The use of WordPress and Divi 4.6.6 in creating blogs is an effective strategy to promote teacher self-preparation, especially for achieving the autonomy, creativity, and digital competencies required in modern teaching. It is recommended to formally include these tools in the initial training of future teachers to enhance innovative digital skills that meet contemporary educational demands.
