Abstract

The present work was carried out in the Basic Cooperative Production Unit (UBPC) “14 de Junio”, belonging to the Agribusiness Paquito Rosales Benítez of the municipality of Yara, in the province of Granma. It was carried out with the objective of evaluating the energy balance of the soil preparation for bean cultivation, taking into account the energy consumption of direct and indirect use and the incoming energy of the process (Input). As a result, a direct energy consumption of 13 539.33 MJ ha-1, with the work of breaking the activity of higher consumption with 5 170.56 MJ ha-1, similarly the indirect energy was 327.18 MJ ha-1, the breakdown activity being the most energy consuming activity with 163.58 MJ ha-1 in relation to the remaining work, respectively. The total energy (Input) had a behavior of 13 866.51 MJ ha-1, maintaining the breaking activity with the highest energy consumption.
