Abstract

The aim of this work is to design an intensive course to develop writing skills in English at a basic A2 level in students at the University of Granma, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It also refers to some insufficiencies detected in the students of this institution that limits their acquisition of the required level in this skill; likewise, the problems resulting from the proficiency tests of this foreign language. The importance of this work lies in the fact that this intensive course contributes to the development of written expression skills at an A2 level, as these students will do the proficiency test immediately. As a result, positive transformations are achieved in the students' superior performance, allowing them to certify the A2 level in the skill under research. In general, it is stated that this work could be used as a tool to be generalized in training the students to do the proficiency tests.
