Prowing profile of tomatoe variety “IPA-6” (Solanum lycopersicum, l.) in the experimental farm of the veterinary medicine faculty of Huambo, Angola (Original)
Keywords:
plants; tomatoes; furrow; scatteringAbstract
Tomato cultivation is greatly consumed all over the world, in the current experiment the “IPA-6” was used, and in the nursery stage the following treatments were used: sowing in bed, in furrow and by scattering, evaluated at 15, 30 and 45 days seedling height and number of leaves per plant, longitude, width of leaves and number of lobes per plants, longitude and number of roots per plant and stem longitude. The number of leaves per plants at 45 days had a measurement of 7,8 in furrow sowing and 6,4 in scattering sowing; The number of leaves, roots and lobes at 15, 30 and 45 days had significant differences; in the leaves per plant in the furrow and by scattering at 45 days; the plants in furrows showed a greater number of leaves with a significant difference in comparison with plants by scattering; the size of the vegetative organs at 15, 30 and 45 days had significant differences and in the height of plants there weren´t significant differences, either in the furrow sowing or scattering one at 15 and 30 days; meanwhile at 45 days the sowed plants in furrows were higher than those planted by scattering, these results lead us to conclude that sowing in furrows produces plants in better conditions to be transplanted to the conditions of the farm.
