The purpose of this research is to analyze and compare the results of the sub-index of the economic dimension in 2017 with respect to 2014 for the evaluation of the progress or setback experienced by the municipalities of the Granma province in regard to the indicators selected for this analysis. The report theoretically argues the subject addressed and explains the steps to follow to obtain said subscript. The practical application of this work was carried out taking into account the information provided by the Provincial Directorate of the National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI) in the Statistical Yearbook of the year 2017 edition 2018 of the Granma Province. As a result of the analysis, a set of valid conclusions was reached for the use of this sub-index in the evaluation of the municipalities with regard to the economic dimension of development.
