Abstract

In the work, the dermatoglyphic profile of 24 athletes and former fencing athletes was determined, which showed that 57% present a general genetic predisposition for the practice of high exercise, 29% a medium predisposition and 14% a low predisposition. Regarding the predominance of each of the types of design, 5.7% correspond to the arch design, 84.3% to the loop design and 10% to the whorl design. In the case of fencers with a high genetic predisposition for sports, none present arches, while those with a low predisposition 30% of the design are arches.
