Abstract

Learning management systems are online platforms that contain a support structure for the creation and pedagogical organization of different types of teaching materials. We proposed to implement a course through the MOODLE platform, to favor the learning of tables and database queries by students of the Health Information Management career, as well as to organize their independent work in which a video tutorials system. A development study was carried out at the University of Medical Sciences of Granma, specifying the background of the teaching of the subject Management of Data Bases; the epistemological, psychological, pedagogical, didactic and technological referents related to the teaching process of the subject and the independent work were valued and finally the current state of the teaching-learning process of the subject was diagnosed. The course implemented, raised the quality of student learning, as well as the development of general skills and logical ways of thinking. The design and implementation of the course, as well as the application CAMTASIA STUDIO 2.0, allows to exploit the potentials of these, for the realization of interactive, collaborative activities, the realization of independent works, the communication between the students and the teacher through the chat, forums and e-mail, which result in a higher level of quality of the teaching-learning process.
