However, the grades obtained by the students are low. Within this context, it was necessary to conduct this research in order to relate the basic psychological processes of memory, attention, and motivation toward studying with the grades obtained in the subject by the students of first year of Agronomic Engineer. The sample was of 37 students of the class 2016/17. Three deferent tests were applied to obtained the information related to the three factors evaluated in each student. Through the SPSS data package, the results obtained were matched with the grades obtained in three different kinds of tests conducted in the teaching-learning process. As the general tendency, there is no relation between the grades obtained in the categories of memory quality and attention with the evaluations. According to motivation, it is contrastive the fact of being selected most of the time the options “aim to be a prepared person and get to graduate” over “obtain high grades” and “help my class to success”. These selections mean a lacking of individual commiment with the class’s academic results.
