Set of exercises for the representation of plans of developable parts of machinery (Original)

Some of the most common items in agricultural machinery are bodies, covers, transmission system protectors, ducts, device supports; all generally made with sheet metal. However, of the extensive literature referring to engineering graphics, there is no one that presents exercises for these elements, as they do extensively with gear wheels, springs, mechanical shafts or axles, pulleys, etc. This lack leads to an incomplete preparation of the future agricultural engineer for the exercise of his profession, where he must undertake the repair of these items, which presupposes the prior creation of a technical plan that meets the basic requirements for these parts, as well as providing all the information necessary for the preparation and control of these articles. Taking into account the previously described, the objective was considered to be the development of a set of exercises for the study of the topic Plans of Developable Parts, of the Engineering Graphics discipline, which allows the precise execution of the development of parts built with metal sheet. The research methods that were applied included the survey, expert judgment and the statistical method. The practical contribution was the development, for the first time, of a set of exercises for the topic, which in addition to facilitating the development of the classes, guarantees a more active participation in the construction of knowledge by the students themselves, which has been demonstrated during the application of these exercises for more than 3 academic years at the University of Granma.
