Understanding and management of arithmetic average, mode and medium with grouped data at intervals. (Original)

Abstract

Central tendency measures constitute a set of statistical data that can be summarized by a series of representative numerical quantities called statistical parameters. Among them there can be mentioned: The arithmetic average, medium and mode. The name "measures of central tendency" is due to the grouping of the data around a value that represents them. The  article aimes at managing and understanding the development processes of the average arithmetic, medium and mode with grouped data at intervals, to easy  the insight and capture on the part of the students of the third parallel semester “C” of the Technology Information major. Scientific methods were applied, such as: historical-logical method, which  was used in the construction and development of the subject, mathematical statistical method, which contributed throughout the development of the work  to the research problem, showing the data in the performed exercises and, finally,  the bibliographic method that was used at the time of selecting and collecting  the information of the content for its development through documents, articles and web pages. The research of the topic under analysis permitted the authors the acquisition of the necessary knowledge for the development of the exercises as well as to exemplify each one of them, and thus provide a satisfactory explanation to the students involved in the research process.
