Chronic urticaria is a vascular disorder of the skin, whose elementary lesions are wheals or wheals, which can have a variable size and can be localized or generalized. Although it is associated with low mortality, it generates anxiety and depression, since in many cases the indicated treatments do not achieve resolution of the clinical picture. The article presents the case of a 10 year old patient with a clinical diagnosis of chronic urticaria, with cutaneous manifestations of generalized hives or wheals, which began three months earlier, with no apparent relation to the ingestion of medication or food. Following the indication of a hypoallergenic diet, intramuscular steroids, oral antihistamines and after five days of hospitalization, the patient evolved satisfactorily.
