Materialization of cooperative principles in Credit and Services Cooperative “Benilde Orozco” (Original)

Abstract

The improvement of agricultural cooperatives development programs to face growing needs of industries and population, demands that members of cooperatives and their leaders to know cooperative principles and play a significant role in its materialization; however, it isn´t completely reached. The objective of the present work is to analyze the level of knowlegement and implementation of the cooperative principles in Credit and Services Cooperative “Benilde Orozco”. As materials and methods were used dialectical materialistic and systemic approach, FODA analyzes, analyzes of documents, interview and participant observation. Was carried up the self-diagnosis, using tool named “Cooperative mirror”, created by World Food Program. Self-diagnosis allowed to determinate breaches between “to be” and “must be” about cooperative principles and was elaborated a relational matrix of breaches, its causes and the necessary actions to overcome it. The evaluation of this actions and its effect in two years (2020 – 2022) allowed to ascertain the advance in the solution of detected problems. As conclusions, was verified validity of proposals and was demonstrated that existed a low level of knowlegement about cooperative principles, that limited its implementation and that through qualification and other actions can be closed the breaches and to contribute to the development of the cooperative and communities where it is located.
