Abstract

This article is directed to present a methodology aimed at developing written expression skills within the process of learning and acquisition of the English language. It proposes criteria from various authors on written textual construction that conceptualize the role of writing as one of the most important communicative competences for learning, in terms of construction and reconstruction; and as an expression or discursive activity. In the same way, ideas from other researchers are presented who reflect on the need to use strategies in communication and learning to carry out language activities that presuppose development (through understanding, expression, interaction or mediation) of written texts. Finally, the procedure that the author offers is presented, which consists of a methodological design that emphasizes the stages, phases and actions that students have to go through to achieve a written expression that adjusts to the environment and the standards in which currently the teaching of the English language is framed in Higher Education.
