Abstract

Tests were carried out under different operation conditions of the fast pyrolysis reactor (PPR-200 BIOWARE) for the obtaining of bio-oil, acid water (pyroligneous acid) and fine coal samples by the fast pyrolysis of the capín elephant mixture of the variety Pennisetum purpureum with the sugar cane straw. Several norms ASTM were used for the physical-chemical characterization of these products. There were obtained representative samples of bio-oil (1,5 t) and coal (1 t) by the stable operation of the pyrolysis plant. The coal fine is characterized by the presence of high volatile contents, fixed carbon and ashy. According to their physical properties the bio-oil BIOWARE is a brown dark coloration liquid, with strong and penetrating scent and a very high provoked cinematic viscosity fundamentally for the presence of high quantities of fine coal (7,2%) and pyrolytic lignin (86%). Os conteúdos altos de carbono fixo, voláteis e o poder calórico do bio-óleo e o carvão obtido do processo de pirólise rápida BIOWARE, transforma isto em produtos que podem ser usados como combustíveis. The high fixed carbon, volatile contents and the bio-oil caloric and coal power obtained by the fast pyrolysis process BIOWARE, transforms these products and they can be used as fuels.
