Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the motor components for postural control and sarcopenia levels in the athletes of the men's volleyball team of the Universidad del Atlántico, for the year 2018- II. This originates from the need to create tools to assess athletic performance and the planning of sports training at the university level. Thus obtaining numerical variables that allow describing the studied population and the relationship between variables, determining body composition, sarcopenia levels, motor components and alterations in athletes. The study on podometry, showed, with respect to the proportionality of the foot an average of 4,25 for the right foot and for the left foot an average of 4,5, indicating a type of foot with a tendency to flattening, which, in sports practice It can show symptoms of pain and changes in gait. The functional assessment taken into account as a determinant of quantifiable and observable performance under movement patterns, had a higher incidence in the 3.00 range with a mean of 3.36, indicating that the athlete performs the movement correctly. Finally, the sarcopenia levels, having as a determinant the skeletal muscle mass index, presented an average of 5.87kg / m2, being below the cut-off points presented in research carried out, which obtained an average of 7.25kg / m2 for men. . Based on these evaluations, it is proposed to design a methodological program that demonstrates the anthropometric motor and functional characteristics in order to provide selection channels for athletes who represent the university.
