Abstract

The study analyzes the integration of emotional intelligence in teacher training, highlighting its impact on pedagogical practices and professional development of educators in training. Preliminary findings indicate that strong emotional intelligence training improves pedagogical competencies, classroom management and interactions with students. In addition, the study identifies barriers, such as lack of specific training and resistance to change, and facilitators, such as institutional support and active methodologies. It is proposed that teacher training programs incorporate emotional intelligence modules to develop key skills such as empathy, self-control and conflict resolution, essential for managing classroom challenges and fostering learning. The implementation of emotional intelligence not only improves the well-being and performance of teachers, but also has a direct impact on educational quality, promoting a positive and equitable school climate since this approach transforms teaching.
