Cultural identity in Granma's university students: its treatment from an optional/elective syllabus (Original)

The need to continue developing behaviors, attitudes, qualities and values for the integral development of students in pedagogical careers in today's context is vital, an issue that is not always satisfied, in all cases, by the teachers involved in their training. In response to this need, the Spanish language and literature major al Blas Roca Calderío Campus works with fourth-year students to consolidate skills in the analysis and interpretation of Cuban literary works, within the syllabus of the subject Cuban Literature, which promotes the consolidation of identity values essential for the cultural and humanistic formation of the graduate of this specialty. In this context, the optional syllabus Monographic Course on Nicolás Guillén is taught, which contributes greatly to such an important purpose. The subject is taught with a theoretical-practical approach, because of its importance for the teacher's educational and instructive work, based on the study of language and literature, in correspondence with contemporary changes. To accomplish this work, different methods were used, both theoretical and empirical. The optional program was taken to educational practice through the pre-experiment as an experimental variant.
