The present work is intended to reflect about the foundations that supporthim educational compensatory-corrective process for mentally retarded students, which as concerned to the authoresses constitutes the fundamental premise for the improvement of the components related to the diagnosis, the characterization, and the psychopedagogical intervention. Its redimentioning should be aimed attaining the goal of the Special Education in Cuba as a necessity to which inclusive society aspires.
