The Sustainable Development: their Education in Smart Municipalities. (Review)

Abstract

Education for Sustainable Development in the achievement of Smart Municipalities is a teaching-learning process, dynamic and participatory, with the intention of creating critical knowledge that enables us to recognize the causes and consequences of inequalities in the distribution of wealth and power existing in the context and in the rest of the planet; and offers them capacities for participation in the transformation of existing, local structures into more just ones. It is, therefore, an education committed to the defense of human rights, peace and equity among peoples, of the dignity of people in order to achieve sustainable human development. Another of the references about Education for Development indicates that it is a process of awareness and training that aims at the individual and collective transformation of people, in society, to dismantle prejudices and generate values about solidarity. It is based on a global and systemic approach to interpret reality. Thus, it highlights the interrelationships between the social, the political, the economic, the cultural, the environmental, as well as the technological and the ecological; and the interdependencies between each and every one of these dimensions.
