Abstract

COVID-19 has shown that the supposed "high standards" of the health systems of developed countries, broke due to the high morbidity and mortality of the disease. The pandemic has generated an ethical and environmental education debate on scientific research that reveals conflicts of moral values ​​and complications based on the necessary speed and quality that scientific results must have in the search for viable alternative solutions to the pandemic. Hence, this article focuses on the analysis of the management of scientific information from the perspective of bioethics and environmental education in the face of COVID-19. For this, the international and national context in the period from March to October 2020 is analyzed, around the emergence and transmission of the disease, main recommendations of the OMS and OPS, consequences of fake news generated for political and economic purposes, the plan Cuban performance and ethics for research in Cuba against Covid. It is concluded that this disease has marked a point of reflection for the scientific community and government management in Cuba, which allows finding solid answers to many of the questions posed by the pandemic and at the same time continuity with the demands of sustainable development for the country. Profound changes in the ethical and environmental conduct of all citizens are required for the new normal towards a responsible and caring world, more focused on human well-being.
