The need for self-management of knowledge in a way that favors the active participation of the student in the teaching process has revealed within the conception of the current university. The research presented is intended to demonstrate the effectiveness of the interactive platform MOODLE in self-management of knowledge. The population with which the study was made were the first year students of the specialty Mechanical Engineering in the subject General Chemistry. The proposal is based on teaching tasks elaborated in the discipline. There were notable differences between the initial and final pedagogical tests which were detected with the application of Wilcoxon's non-parametric test for a significance level of 0,05. The application of the matrix method to the subject program justified that the contents are introduced in logical order, a necessary matter for the establishment of models that respond to the dynamics of the current teaching-learning process. This was achieved through the comprehensive training of students corroborated by the indicators that were measured.
