Critical thinking skills in students of the career Degree in Education. Artistic Education (Review)

One of the central purposes currently guiding actions in the fields of education and pedagogy is the training of critical thinking, generally linked to the ability to reason efficiently, make judgments, make decisions and solve problems. This article shows the initial epistemic contradiction revealed in the didactic field between the formative need of critical thinking in the teaching-learning process and the development of critical thinking skills, mediated by the requirements of the Professional Model in the Bachelor's Degree in Education. Artistic Education. The objective is to characterize the teaching-learning process of critical thinking, with emphasis on its skills, in the Aesthetic Discipline, belonging to the Bachelor's Degree in Education. Artistic Education. For this purpose, the analytical-synthetic method, scientific observation, document review and methodological triangulation were used. The survey and the interview were used as techniques. The study corroborated the need to develop critical thinking skills in students for the improvement of their modes of action, which allow them to develop integrally in the career from practices that encourage a critical and reflective way of thinking and turn them into active agents of their own knowledge from an adequate aesthetic appreciation. With the epistemological characterization carried out, the didactic-methodological inadequacies were revealed in relation to the development of critical thinking skills, as well as in the theoretical foundations that supported this process.
