Efficient microorganisms are a viable alternative to achieve ecologically sustainable agricultural development. The objective of the work was to evaluate the effect of Efficient Microorganisms on the acclimatization of in vitro plants of Chino Blanco clone yam. Were used 60 in vitro plants per treatment: T1 in vitro plants submerged for five minutes in 1 % ME from natural mountain ecosystems of the Sierra Maestra, Cuba; T2 in vitro plants submerged for five minutes in 1 % ME + application of 5 % ME in irrigation every other day until 45 days of acclimatization; T3 application of 10 % ME in irrigation every other day until 45 days of acclimatization; T4 control without ME application. The application of ME 10 % in irrigation on alternate days up to 45 days of acclimatization was the only treatment with an effect on the morphological variables number, length and width of leaves, number of buds, stem length, number and length of roots of the in vitro yam plants, with significant statistical differences with the rest of the treatments. The stem thickness in treatments 2 and 3 did not differ statistically but their mean values did differ significantly from the rest of the treatments. This demonstrates the positive effect of the 10 % ME concentration applied in irrigation for 45 days on plants grown in a substrate not enriched with nutrients.
