Methodological alternative to favor the development of solving skill in primary school students (Original)

This article deals with a problem that, at present, marks a need in the formation and development of skills in the subject of Mathematics. A methodological alternative is proposed to favor the development of problem solving skills in third grade primary school students. The research used a system of methods at the theoretical level (historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, theoretical modeling and system approach), at the empirical level (survey, interview, observation, pedagogical and experimental test); in addition, mathematical and statistical methods were used. With the application of this alternative, the development of the ability to solve mathematical problems was evidenced in more than eighty percent of the students.
