The purpose of the present work is to evaluate the performance of Municipal University Center of Jiguaní (CUM), in the management of innovation for local development. It is part of the general conceptualization of the system of science and innovation and local development. Moreover, it takes into account the general indications for the ownership of the functions and roles, of the municipal university centers, in the local development. If the information of the municipality is considered in reference to: diagnostic of the economic and social situation of the municipality; principal objectives in the Strategic Program of Local Development. Taking into account these fundamentals the CUM executed, among its main actions, follows: participation in the elaboration and / or updating of the Local Development Program; participation in the elaboration and / or updating of the Strategic Programs of the Development of the main economic and social actors involved; articulation and coordination with entities carrying out science and innovation actions, responding to projects in the territory; contribution to the functioning of collegiate organs and the training and supervision of human resources. The main results include the updating of the strategies of actors and municipalities; the formulation and execution of more than 10 technological innovation projects and the performance and capacity of more than 500 technicians, specialists, teams and reserves of the municipality.
