Abstract

The presence of red rice and different weeds in the productive rice fields is an unresolved problem at present. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Raft 40 SC– Ronstar 38 SC technology in the control of red rice and weeds in rice (Oriza sativa L.), immediately after germination in a Base Business Unit of the municipality of Yara, Granma, this research was developed. Seven treatments were used with different combinations of soil preparation, irrigation water management, and different doses of Raft 40 SC– Ronstar 38 SC herbicides, in a completely randomized design. The variables evaluated (plants.m-2) immediately after germination were rice, red rice, weeds of the monocotyledonous type, dicotyledonous, sedge and phytotoxicity to the crop. The results showed that for the rice variable, treatments 2 and 5 exceeded 60 plants.m-2, while in treatment 1 no rice plants were found at that early age, however it was the treatment with the highest amount of Red rice. The presence of monocots was only present in treatments 1, 2 and 5. For dicots, with presence in all treatments, but very abundant where treatment 1 was applied. Plants of the sedge type were only detected in the treatments 1,2, 5 and 7 with a greater presence in treatment 1, and absence in treatments 3, 4 and 6. Phytotoxicity was not observed in treatments 1 and 2, and yes in the rest of the treatments, with a greater effect phytotoxic in treatments 3, 4 and 5.
