Abstract

Was taken a sample of 250 bees with an infestation level by Varroa destructor of 28%. Where conformed to two treatments T-I (group to which smoke of Salvia was applied), T-II (group to which smoke of Caña santa was applied) and a control T-III (smoke was not applied). Were carried out three applications of smoke at the 7; 21 and 24 days. When concluding the last treatment the mites and bees dead were counted, evidenced acaricidal activity for both plants. An efficiency of 73, 33% was obtained for T-I and 69, 23% for T-II. The carried out study showed a dependence dose - effect in the acaricidal activity of the smoke generated by the combustion of Salvia and Caña santa.  This paper describes a comparative study on the acaricidal action on Varroa destructor of the smoke generated by the combustion of Salvia officinales and Cymbopogon citratus leaves under laboratory conditions.
