Education in Niquero, Granma province, before, during and after the alphabetization campaign, interrelation with the endogenous development of the municipality (Review)

The alphabetization campaign fulfilled the ideas of the Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, in the United Nations Organization in 1960, announcing to the world the conversion of Cuba as a territory free of illiteracy. In Niquero, this campaign took place in difficult conditions due to the peccary conditions of life of its population, the high taxes of illiteracy (61 %) and the scarce existence of schools all over the territory. These conditions are very far from what the municipality shows today in this southern region of Granma province. In this work, a comparison of the existing conditions of education in Niquero is made before, during and after the alphabetization campaign, process that constitutes the support of the endogenous development in debt for the municipality.
