Abstract

Starting from investigations, generated for the project Giant Chess: Experience in the communities granmenses, developed at Bayamo, in Granma province, Cuba, the article exposes some considerations on teaching the basic elements of chess, emphasizing in the movement of the figure of the Knight, that will allow the professors and instructors of Chess to have suggestions to perfect the didactic process of sports initiation in younger students of 6 to 9 years.
