The present study was carried out at the University of Physical Culture and Sports Science "Manuel Fajardo", where the diagnosis of the current situation of cardiovascular rehabilitation in the maintenance phase in the community was made from surveys applied to patients low risk cardiologists and health and physical culture professionals who work in health centers and sports teams in 10 municipalities of the capital, and the analysis of current cardiovascular rehabilitation programs. The current situation of the Biohealthy Gym in Havana was also diagnosed, through the analysis of projects, theses and normative documents of the Biohealthy circuits, of Cuba, and of other countries to determine the potential of these facilities to continue the process of rehabilitation cardiovascular disease in the maintenance phase of low-risk patients with heart disease in the community. To carry out the diagnosis, the analytical-synthetic, hypothetical-deductive methods, content analysis and methodological triangulation, the survey and the observation were used. For the qualitative variables, the absolute (n) and relative (%) frequencies were obtained. The result of the diagnosis showed that: the combination of the exercises in the Biohealthy apparatuses with other traditional exercises of the cardiovascular rehabilitation, presuppose the possibility of performing aerobic training and resistance strength training; that the structure of the exercises, both in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs, and in the equipment of the Biohealthy circuits can be interrelated. It was concluded that it is necessary to develop a program with specific methodological indications, which will serve as a guide for graduates in physical culture to be able to develop the maintenance phase in the community using the Biohealthy gyms as a means.
