Professional volleyball reach: a review about the attack and the block (Review)

Actually, in the volleyball, the coaches have a lot of concern with the attack reach and the block reach because these conditioning motor capacities is related to the success in these skills. What are the attack reach and the block reach detected in the volleyball scientific literature? However, with the new studies on this theme, perhaps these values of the reach may have been changed. The objective of the review was to detect the attack and the block reach of the professional volleyball. The selected articles were consulted on Google Scholar and Research Gate and were found 14 studies. The male volleyball attack reach was 3.10 to 3.89 m, the block was 3.30 to 3.42 m, the serve was 3.05 to 3.20 m and the set was 2.55 m at 2.95 m. The men's doubles volleyball in the sand the attack reach was 3.30 to 3.42 m and the block reach was 3.10 to 3.21 m. The female volleyball attack reach was 2.87 to 3.35 m and the block was 2.64 to 3.25 m. Women's double volleyball in the sand the attack reach was 2.78 to 3.12 m and the block was 2.68 to 3.02 m. In conclusion, the attack and the block reach is a parameter for the coach to select the players and it is useful for the coach to understand during the match the deficiency of the attack and of the block of some volleyball players because of the shorter reach.
