Abstract

The present investigation emerged from the theoretical-methodological and practical shortcomings, detected the process of physical education to children diagnosed with mild mental retardation, suffering from bronchial asthma during the Adapted Physical Education classes. The study sample consisted of 11 children from the special school "Felix Varela Morales," Granma province, plus two PE teachers were consulted, one of Physical Culture Therapeutics, 11 family and physician. Theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical methods that guided the research process and the realization of different scientific, such as were used: the theoretical concept with a focus on prevention, stimulation and development, contextualized the object of study and methodology developed declared as practical tool. The results obtained in the final finding of the pre-experiment, allowed to accept the scientific hypothesis stated in this research, by improving the physical and educational care and development of motor and respiratory indicators in children investigated; also decreased the number of seizures and drug use, preparing them to live with the disease.
