Behavior of sexual and environmental education of school athletes and high performance

Abstract

This work responds to the complex project of “Sexual and environmental education in school and high-performance athletes”, as well as the research line of the Provincial Center for Sports Medicine (CEPROMEDE). The sample covers 50% of the population of strategic sports in Granma, as well as coaches. To define the research problem, the various instruments of scientific research were applied (survey, interviews, observations of the training process and the sports context. From whose results the scientific problem of the research was derived, consisting of How to perfect the educational process of the “Pedro Batista Fonseca” School Sports Initiation School (EIDE), to contribute to improving the sexual behaviors of the athletes under study? To solve this problem, the following objective was set: Propose a system of sexual-environmental tasks and actions that allow the educational process to be perfected, with an integrative and contextualized nature, their behaviors and attitudes towards the sexuality of the EIDE athletes. The results of which are around a “Sexual and environmental education manual”, which includes the system of tasks and sexual-environmental actions to be developed in the sports center and that will subsequently be incorporated into a well-structured Methodology in stages and established objectives, with the protagonism, not only of the coaches and educators, but also the triad (doctors and psychologists and the specialist in gynecology) from CEPROMEDE.
