Phytochemical analysis and in vitro insecticide activity of the watery extract of Agdestis clematidea in the handling of Myzus persicae (Original)
Keywords:
Agdestis clematedea, Myzus persicae, phytochemical analysis and watery extractAbstract
The present work was carried out in the laboratories of the Centers of Study of Applied Chemistry, of the University of Granma. Which had two stages, one that consisted on confirming scientifically that the extracts of the plant Agdestis clematedea (Boniato apestoso) that is used in a traditional way in the handling of insects, it contains secondary metabolites with insecticide, and other activity where the insecticide action of the watery extract was evaluated in the regulation of populations of green plant louse (Myzus persicae). The plant was collected in the town of Troya, Tree, Granma, and identified by specialists of the laboratory of Botany of the University of Granma, the organ of the used plant was the tuber, of which the watery extract was obtained. To the same one he/she was carried out the phytochemical analysis, which allowed to verify that in the extract of the plant, the presence of several families of secondary metabolites of biological interest exists, as: Alkaloids, Saponins, free Amino acids and Coumarinas. Then they were carried out rehearsals in the laboratory to measure the insecticide and/or repellent activity, different concentrations of extracts were used, 30%, 45%, 60% and 75% and the technical effectiveness was determined, being able to demonstrate you the insecticide and repellent effect, evidencing this the possibility to use watery extract of the stinking sweet potato in the handling of the population of M. persicae.
