The importance of artificial intelligence (AI) regulation from a public law perspective is evident in this comprehensive analysis. Technological advances and the transformative potential of AI in various sectors are addressed, along with the associated benefits and challenges. The need for transparency and accountability in AI algorithms is noted, highlighting the importance of understanding how they work and implementing measures to ensure fairness. Personal data protection is presented as a critical aspect, especially in the AI era, where the massive collection of information poses privacy risks. Informed consent and data minimization are highlighted as essential principles in this context. In addition, international perspectives and future challenges in AI regulation are discussed, highlighting the need for collaborative and ethical approaches. Experiences and approaches from various jurisdictions are mentioned, pointing to the lack of harmonized regulation as a potential obstacle to global cooperation. Finally, the lack of AI-specific legislation is highlighted as a critical point, evidencing the need for updated and adaptive legal frameworks that comprehensively address the ethical, legal and social challenges associated with AI.
