Preparation for families of children with hearing impairment is a priority at the present time; it is a social need in the specific historical context and can meet the challenges of education open to diversity. This article promotes the need to reflect on the epistemological foundations in the field of preparing the family aimed to search professionals of different disciplines, a flexible, scientific and creator thinking that allows them to address the complexity of the social relationships that exist within the framework of this educational institution, so as to ensure a comprehensive cultural development of the family to play its educational role. It is a subject linked to a doctoral thesis entitled as this paper title.
