The children´s poetry constitutes a valuable means to foment the homeland feelings. The present article is heading to find a solution to the insufficiencies on the children´s awareness about the revolutionary Cuban fighters in the local history, using a poetical language. It reflects the importance of the children´s poetry to stimulate pre-schooling children towards the study of the revolutionary Cuban fighters in the history of Yara. The effectiveness of the proposal is corroborated in the day-care center “Somos la esperanza del mundo” from Yara municipality. The authors offer significant elements on the life and work of the revolutionary Cuban fighters from this town, the importance of their fights for the independence of Cuba, their attributes and the historic and cultural events of the locality that characterize and identify them.
