Keywords:
environmental education; sustainable development; students' scientific works; elective coursesAbstract
The work intends to socialize, from the theoretical elements, the proposal of an Elective syllabus for the third year of the full-time course of the Marxism-Leninism and History major, as a continuity of the research teaching work carried out by the so called in recent times Environmental Education Study Center as well as the improvement of the syllabus of an optional course entitled “The Environmental Dimension through the Students' Scientific Work from the Marxism-Leninism and History”. Bearing in mind that the Organs of the State Central Administration and related institutions are compelled to incorporate in their development policies, elements of the environmental protection in close correspondence with the established public policies and with the principles of strategic planning of the Ministry of Higher Education for this fourth period 2016/2020, it is assumed and reckoned the importance of the environmental education for a sustainable development as a keystone for achieving the goals of the sustainable development and fulfilling the Guidelines of the Social Economical Policy of the Cuban Party and Revolution. An outstanding aspect has to do with the systematized scientific outcomes which were achieved in the period 2012-2016, and stemmed from research projects of institutional, municipal, and national character.
