Abstract

It is presented an updating of the theoretical foundations that support the modeling of the professional upgrading process of Mathematics teachers at the Basic Secondary Education level in Cuba. For its determination, a study was carried out with the use of theoretical and empirical methods and mathematical statistical techniques. It is also presented the characteristics and tendencies of this process from 1959 to 2022, the current state of this process and the theoretical support that allows redesigning models, strategies and methodologies that contribute to improve the process, incorporating new and modern elements such as Informatization and Communication Technologies and mobile learning, stressing the Heuristic Instruction of Mathematics in the referred educational level.
