Abstract

The training of the students, who contest in Chemistry in Junior High Education, is a problem that faces this educational level. The objective of the research was to diagnose the current state of training of chemistry contestants in Junior High Education. An educational, descriptive and cross-sectional investigation was carried out at “Capitana Rosa la Bayamesa" Junior High School in the municipality of Minas, Camagüey province during the period from September 2017 to February 2018. Some empirical methods were used like, the interview, the survey and the analysis of documents. It is concluded that the programs of studies of the subject Chemistry in Junior High Education offer little potentialities to reach the attention that the contestants require in this matter, limitations in the attention to the needs and individual and collective potentialities of the talents students with interest in participate in the Chemistry contests, due to  the insufficient training of the teachers-trainers and the lack of a teaching material as well as a strategy for the training of Chemistry contestants in Junior High  Education that permits to raise the results in the different editions.
