Actions to improve the commercialization of Bank Credit to the Agricultural Cooperative Sector in the municipality of Bayamo (Original)

The process of granting bank credit to the agricultural cooperative sector is essential for the increase of food production and the decrease of prices that affect the Cuban population. The article deals with the commercialization of the Bank Credit to the Agricultural Cooperative Sector in Bayamo municipality, Granma province, with the objective of identifying the main difficulties that hinder the process of granting credits to the Bayamo agricultural cooperatives and to propose the corresponding actions to solve them. The application of the methods was based on the dialectical materialist method as the methodological basis of all sciences and theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used. The main conclusions were that the most important problems of credit to the agricultural cooperative sector were related to the lack of correspondence between the fixed repayment terms and the final period of production due to the low level of credit in the sector, the high interest rates and the insufficient number of physical verification visits, because the managers did not carry out the necessary analyses with accuracy and depth. Likewise, the incorrect selection of human resources, the use of outdated technical files, the difficulties to know the commercialization costs of bank credit to the agricultural cooperative sector and the failure to comply with the levels of agricultural production and commercialization committed to guarantee a high degree of food self-sufficiency through credit were also mentioned.
